STASIS
Zurich 2015 / Site Specific Audio-Installation
A scenographical sound installation in the basement of a warehouse in the industrial district of Zurich Binz.
Here a counterpoint to the urban environment characterized by structural change is created - lying there as if forgotten.
The audience enters the room via the freight elevator and finds itself in an atmosphere of sparse light, traces and sedimentations on the walls and floor and between locked transport crates.
The massive wooden objects are equipped with transducers that cause them to sound and vibrate.
A composition of bass-heavy sine tones continuously shifts the room's center of gravity through slow modulations of sound.
Concept / Scenography - Lukas Sander / Séverine Urwyler
